Easter weekend on Friday, Saturday and Sunday The Hostalric historic centre hosts a medieval festival with markets and events. The Hostalric Medieval Festival aims to commemorate the splendour of the town's medieval past, that was the centre of the extensive Viscounty of Cabrera.
The festival is celebrated in two locations: the Fortress and the town's medieval quarters. The latter becomes a large crafts and food market, where you can find the most authentic cold meats, hand-crafted sweets, cheeses and a variety of food options, as well as other products and attractions. The stalls are located along the Carrer Raval and the Carrer Major, from the Frares Tower to the Porta de Barcelona.
At the Fortress, you will find the medieval camp, the exhibition of artefacts and elements of the period. Guided tours of the monument are offered at a reduced cost during this period.
Throughout the town and castle there are children's workshops, theatrical performances, demonstrations of trades or music, and you will also have the opportunity to visit the patrimonial elements of the town free of charge. One of the most important activities is a grand medieval feast with entertainment.
