About Mount Tibidabo
Mount Tibidabo (Tibidabo Barcelona) is the highest peak in the Serra de Collserola Natural Park, offering sweeping views of the city and a mix of historic and modern attractions. It’s home to the iconic Tibidabo Amusement Park (Parc d'Atraccions), the Sacred Heart of Jesus Temple (Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor), the Fabra Observatory, and the Torre Collserola with its panoramic viewing floor.
Originally developed as a retreat for Barcelona’s elite, Tibidabo became a leisure destination with the amusement park opening in 1901, making it Spain’s oldest operating amusement park and the third oldest in Europe. The Temple began construction in 1902 and was completed in 1961, now serving as a minor basilica with rooftop access to a stunning viewpoint.
Nearby, the Rabassada Casino once added glamour to the mountain, though it now stands as a haunting ruin with a storied past.
Tibidabo sits within the Parc Natural de Collserola, a vast forested area ideal for walking routes to Tibidabo, including scenic hikes via Fabra Observatory and Vila Joana.
Explore the images below for detailed guides to each attraction and transport method, including maps, photo galleries, timetables, and insider tips.
Happy Exploring!

What to take with you for Tibidabo Mountain Summit
For a Tibidabo day trip I pack a small 10L rucksack with a fleece jersey and if the weather forecast says rain, a waterproof poncho. I also recommend a water bottle that can be topped up in the many drinking water fountains.
