Description of Costa Brava (North of Barcelona)
The Costa Brava is the most beautiful coastline in Catalunya running from the town of Blanes north of Barcelona to the border with France. The Costa Brava is not accessible by train but is well served by the Safra bus network and a place I can only describe as paradise.
On the Costa Brava, the GR-92 coastal trail known as La Ronda starts at Portbou, goes around Cap de Creus, through the Aiguamolls de l'Emporda Natural Park, over the Montgri Massif and Les Gavarres Massif. The GR-92 at Begur follows the coastline through pituresque fishing villages on the Costa Brava like Fornels, Tamariu, Llafranc, Calella de Palafrugell, la fosca de Palamos, Sant Feliu de Guixols, Tossa de Mar, Lloret de Mar and Blanes. These towns have the best bluest and cleanest water to swim in and the most beautiful coves and bay beaches to explore.
The regional capital of the Costa Brava is Girona with Figueres being a secondary city. Both Girona and Figueres are inland and connected to the Costa Brava by bus routes. If planning a holiday on the costa Brava it is best to hire a car or use the bus routes I have specified in each attraction guide.

There are plenty of towns that offer sea kayak, scuba diving and sailing trips as activities. I also detail the best beaches and coves to visit.
