Parks And Gardens In Barcelona You Need To See
The best parks & gardens in Barcelona plus many unknown secret corners of nature in the capital and principal towns outside of Barcelona.
Description of Parks & Gardens
Barcelona is a city with numerous beautiful parks and gardens. This page offers an overview of the best parks in Barcelona, such as Parc Güell, Parc de la Ciutadella, various gardens in Montjuïc, the famous viewpoint Carmel Bunkers and many lesser known but stunning parks.
Difference between a Park, a Garden and a Natural Park in Barcelona?
Garden: normally the grounds of a large house or public buildings and is a space with flowers, roses, shrubs and trees with lots of quiet places to sit on a bench and meditate, read or enjoy the open air.
Park: large open grassed space that will be divided by small gardens of flowers, roses and shrubs. These are great picnic spots, some with views overlooking the city.
Natural Park: wilderness of forests and mountains preserved for hiking, cycling and mountain sports. Catalunya has the best natural parcs in Spain because of the large bio-diversity. For information about hiking in Natural parks I have a separate page about the best hiking routes.
In conclusion, this page focuses on parks and gardens within a city environment. They are a green oasis where you can go to escape the bustle of city life.
