About Figueres Sant Pere Church
The church of Sant pere is a romanesque church in the historic centre of Figueres, dating from the 10th century, that underwent a gothic reconstruction in the 14th century.
The facade was built in 1578 with a large stained glass window that gives light to the interior.
During the Spanish Civil war the church suffered severe damage and was rebuilt between 1941 and 1948.
Salvador Dali was baptised and received his First Communion at Sant Pere Church. The funeral of Salvador Dali also took place in this church. The church is next to the Dali Theatre museum.
