Maricel Palace or Palau de Maricel is an emblematic early 20th century palace in Sitges. It is sometimes referred to as Maricel de Terra becuase it is on the land ward side where as the Maricel Museum Maricel de Mar is on the sea facing side of Calle de Fonollar.
Built by Miquel Utrillo i Morlius (who lived in Paris with Santiago Rusiñol) between 1913 and 1918 as a home and place to display the important art collection belonging to American millionaire industrialist, collector and patron of the arts, Charles Deering, who lived there until 1921.
In 1935 it was rented by the Catalonian Generalitat as an extension of the Cau Ferrat Museum's collections and since then it has been dedicated to artistic and cultural activities. Acquired by the Sitges Town Hall in 1954.
The palace consists of The Gold Room, the Blue Room, the Chapel Room, the Ship's Room, Terraces and the Cloister, each space with a distinctive decor. The palace as well as being a museum also serves as a cultural centre, conference and seminar space, and events venue for hire.
This is a spectacular and regal palace that has just the right amount of preservation to maintain the spaces but not making it look new and modern.

I visited using an individual ticket which cost 5 euros for an adult. I did not but the ticket in advance bu wehnt on a sunday and found the Palace to be open.
Combined ticket for Maricel Palace, Maricel Museum and Cau Ferrat is 13 Euros. I would only buy this if I knew that I was going to get access to Maricel Palace. Tickets for Maricel Palace are sold in the Cau Ferrat Museum.
Top tip: There is an android app and apple app which can be found searching for Museos de Sitges. The app works as the audio guide for the palace and gives interesting history of the artefacts and museum space. Take headphones and connect to the free wifi in the museum to use the app.
The Maricel Palace has limited opening times:
