Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy was built between 1765 and 1775 under the direction of architect Josep Mas i Dordal in a splendid baroque style. The dome is crested with a statue of our lady. Is the second church in Barcelona to receive the title of minor basilica after the Barcelona cathedral.

Entry to this very ornately decorated church is free. A guided visit is also available booking via email to mpadrol@basilicadelamerce.cat.
Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy opening hours:
Monday to Saturday: 09:00h to 13:30h and 16:30h to 20:00h.
Sundays: 09:00h to 13:30h and 16:30h to 20:00h.
Basilica of Our Lady of Mercy Mass:
Monday to Friday: 19:00h.
Saturdays: 11:00h and 19:00h.
Sundays: 11:00h (Spanish) / 12:00h (Catalan) / 19:00h (Catalan and Spanish mixed).
The entrance to Our Lady Of Mercy Basilica is via 1 low step with a lipped door. entrance for wheelchairs and pushchairs is possible but the site is not specifically modified for it.
There is bicycle anchorage in front of the basilica in Plaza de la Merce.
You must not be dressed in beachwear to visit the interior of the basilica. Beachwear is not permitted to walk around the streets of Barcelona.
