About Poble Espanol Replica Walled Village:
Poble Espanyol was built for the 1929 International Exposition as an exhibit of the architecture and culture of Spain.
It is walled village. The interior contains 117 full scale buildings within zones, each zone being reproductions from the various regions of Spain.
In the middle of the walled village is a large square.
The plan was to demolish it once the International Exhibition was over but the museum was preserved because of its great success. The recreated village still contains the streets, squares and facades of the different areas of Spain. The village hosts many different events including gastronomic festivals, concerts in summer, flamenco shows, private events such as weddings, and children's activities.
Also contained within are more than 30 artisan shops making handmade items of blown glass, leather, ceramics, jewellery, masks, baskets, and Spanish guitars which are sold to the visitors.

Visiting Poble Espanol Replica Walled Village:
A general adult ticket costs 14.00 Euros which in my opinion is a little bit pricy. However, there are occasions when reduced or free entry is possible and all tickets are cheaper if purchased online
El Poble Espanyol hosts concerts in the main square in the summer. I have seen Jeff Beck, ZZ top and Lenny Kravitz here. By buying a ticket to these concerts, I automatically had free entry into Poble Espanyol so I arrived 1 hour before the start of each concert to walk around the interior. See the Doors opening time on the concert ticket.
Additionally, Poble Espanyol hosts local bands and events such as live blues music in the summer. Buying tickets for these events also allows free access into the site and I generally arrive a little early to walk round the various streets on the interior.
In the evenings from 8PM there is a reduced entry rate of 7 Euros (6.30 Euros if purchased online). This is particularly interesting in the summer months when nightfall is at 21:30h and closure is just before midnight.
Tickets can be purchased online via the official website. It is also possible to buy a combined MNAC and Poble Espanyol ticket.
Poble Espanol opening hours:
Mondays: 10:00h to 20:00h.
Tuesday to Sunday: 10:00h to midnight.
