Parc Collserola Vila Joana Museum & Walking Route to Tibidabo
Historic farmhouse turned museum honoring Jacint Verdaguer. Scenic forest walk from Vallvidrera Baix to Tibidabo via Vila Joana
About Vila Joana in Parc Collserola
Vila Joana, a historic farmhouse in the Vallvidrera parish, became a summer residence in the 19th century and later an educational center known as the Villa Joana Schools (1921–1973).
It was the final home of Catalan poet Jacint Verdaguer, who died here on June 10, 1902. The house was transformed into a memorial space and, in 1963, became the first museum dedicated to his life and work. Today, MUHBA Vila Joana serves as both a literary museum and a cultural landmark within Serra de Collserola Natural Park.
Surrounded by forest and trails, Vila Joana is a popular stop on easy walking trails near Barcelona, especially for those hiking from Baixador de Vallvidrera to Mount Tibidabo.
