About the Tibidabo Forest Path Route
There are multiple ways to reach Mount Tibidabo, including the Funicular de Vallvidrera + 111 bus, the Funicular de Tibidabo (Cuca de Llum), and several scenic walking routes through Parc Collserola.
This particular trail is a short but steady uphill hike of 3.44 km, ideal for those seeking hiking near Barcelona with forest immersion and city views. Starting at FGC Avenida Tibidabo station, the route follows Avenida Tibidabo into Parc del Font del Raco, a green escape from the urban bustle.
After reaching Plaza Doctor Andreu—home to the lower station of the Tibidabo Funicular—the trail continues left into Collserola Park, running parallel to the funicular tracks. It intersects with Carretera de les Aigües, then climbs along Carretera Vallvidrera a Barcelona toward the Fabra Observatory.
From the observatory, the trail continues uphill, crossing the BV-1818 road and arriving at the summit, where you’ll find the Tibidabo Amusement Park and the Temple of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Visiting Tibidabo via Forest Path
Another scenic option is to hike from FGC Baixador de Vallvidrera through Parc Collserola via Vila Joana, offering a longer but equally beautiful route to Tibidabo.
This trail is short (3.44Km) and direct but all uphill. Starting at FGC station Avenida Tibidabo, the route takes Avenida Tibidabo to quickly escape the city and enter Parc del Font del Raco. Cutting through this park ends up in Plaza Doctor del Andreu which is the lower station of Funicular de Tibidabo (cuca de Llum).
To the left of the Funicular station white building is a rural path going up in to Collserola park. This path runs approximately parallel to the Funicular tracks till Carratera del aiguas, another beautiful hiking trail. From here The trail continues up rural road Carretera Vallvidrera a Barcelona until we turn off towards the Fabra Observatory.
At the Fabra Observatory access road the path continues up again parallel to the Funicular Tibidabo tracks. Crossing the Bv1818 road again the path continues up to Tibidabo Amusement park and Temple.
Allow about 1 to 3 hours to complete this route.
Hiking with Dogs in Collserola
This forest route features oak, beech, and pine trees. In spring and summer, be cautious of Pine Processionary Caterpillars, which can be harmful to pets. Most trees near paths have traps, but vigilance is advised.

At the summit, you can descend via the 111 bus to Funicular de Vallvidrera, walk down through Parc Collserola, or follow the forest trail past Vila Joana to FGC Baixador de Vallvidrera.
